Marianne Lawson 49, of Longview, Texas, passed on to her next life Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in Longview, after a long life living with Marfan Syndrome. She was born on March 27, 1976 to Anna Marie Andersen, in Farsø Denmark.
She graduated from Aarhus University with a Bachelor in English and then a Master's in Psychology and English followed by doing an Ed.D in Special Education at Binghamton University in New York. She was employed at Aarhus University working with the Special Education Department. Marianne was the top in her field in Dyslexia research, having numerous articles published and attended many conferences on this subject worldwide.
As a Rotary Club exchange student in high school she attended Endwell High NY and then in College attending Centenary College of Louisiana in the fall of 2000. It was there where she met her future husband, Keith B. Lawson II. They had a long- distance relationship and married in August 2002. After leaving Denmark in 2008, they resided in Binghamton, New York. In 2012 Marianne suffered major health complications and they moved to Longview, Texas.
Over the last 13 years Marianne, like the true Danish Viking she was, showed her resilience in love for life and independent nature never giving up and fighting with the struggle of her health. She loved being around family, friends and hosting parties. Marianne also loved all her puppies to a fault. She lived life to its fullest despite any of life's limitations.
She is survived by her husband, Keith B. Lawson II; daughter Olivia Marie Lawson of Longview, Texas; parents Ole Kofod and Anna Marie Andersen of Farsø, Denmark; brother Søren Andersen, niece and nephew Sophia and Casper Andersen of Naestved, Denmark; in laws, Keith and Martha Lawson, brother in law, Bryan and Maria Lawson, nephew and niece, Sean and Natalie Lawson all of Longview, Texas.
Family and Friends are invited to come to our home on Saturday Oct. 25th Between 1pm and 4pm to celebrate her life with a visitation, stories of Marianne, and drink, "Skål". Directions will be provided as needed.
Another Memorial Service will be held in Farsø, Denmark at a later date pending travel arrangements and transport approvals. As like her loving heart, her remains will reside in both the USA and Denmark.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions can be made to The Marfan Foundation.

I can´t believe I couldn´t find a picture of me and you together but I guess I was the one always capturing the pictures. You were so much fun and always down to come to our parties. I´ll miss hanging with you and all our laughs. I hope you know how much you are loved by me. Thank you for being my friend. Love,
Misty
