Jamie Frances Payne Bertholf,55, passed away on June 8, 2025 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. Jamie was born to the late Jack Buford Payne Sr. and Gaynell Arrowood Payne. Jamie was the youngest sibling of 6. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Travis Mintz, a grandson Darrius Hughes, a sister Joy Braswell, a brother Jerry Payne, brother in law Jack Solesbee and a special niece Kelly Payne Robb.
Jamie worked for American Efird of Mount Holly at the Rush plant most of her adult life. She had a laugh that was contagious and a beautiful smile. Jamie was devastated in 2008 of losing her son Travis Patrick, to a tragic vehicle accident. Life was very different for Jamie and would never be the same for her as a mother.
Those left to cherish Jamie's memories; a daughter Joy Lashawn Guthrie, grandchildren: Aleigha, Ryan, and Patrick. Sisters Jill Payne Solesbee, Joann Payne Barks (Kevin), brother Jack Payne Jr. (Cindy). Her nieces and nephews; Kris Royster, Gina Stines, Amy Buzzard, Angie Morton, Sara Moore, Jennifer Medeci, Jeff Payne, Michael Kinmon, Rachael Gordon and Ray Gordon Jr. Aunts and Uncles: Martha Homesley, Bobby Payne and Keith Arrowood.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025 at 6pm at Common Ground- FUMC- Stanley 5481 Hickory Grove Rd. to honor Jamie's life. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the memorial service. Condolence messages may be sent to the family by visiting www.woodlawnfuneral.org. Woodlawn Funeral Home of Mount Holly is caring for the family.
