Jamie Dwyer

Memorial service for Jamie Dwyer, 75 of Indiahoma, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Cameron Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Teel, pastor officiating.

Mrs. Dwyer passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at her home in Indiahoma.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

Jamie was born on September 24, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas to June and Mercedes (Hall) Yarbor. She grew up in Lawton where she attended school, graduating from Eisenhower High School and received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Cameron University. She began her teaching career at LBTCA and later taught first and second grades at Washington Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary, and finishing her career at Sweeney Elementary, retiring in 2014. Jamie married David Dwyer on November 8, 1969 and they made their home in Lawton for many years before moving to Indiahoma in 1995. Jamie has been a member of Cameron Baptist Church for over 60 years, making her the longest standing member to date. She taught Sunday school almost all of that time. She enjoyed teaching reading, quilting, fishing with her husband, and she loved purple.

She is survived by her husband, David Dwyer, of the home; her daughter and son in law, Wendy and Jim Robinson, of Choctaw, OK; her brother and sister in law, Bruce and LaDonna Yarbor, of Yukon, OK her grandchildren, Kelsey Rix, David Dwyer and wife, Kelsey, and Shelby Robinson; her great grandchildren, Jaxon and Layni Dwyer; and her niece and nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Douglas "Doug" John Dwyer.
