Jamie Griffin

SHELBY: Jamie Lee Griffin, 35, died Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Rev. Buster and Ann Hamrick Griffin of Shelby. Jamie was an avid fisherman, a teddy bear and affectionately referred to himself as "Big Sexy". He was preceded in death by his brother, Little Buster Griffin; and sister, Kristie Griffin. He is survived by his loving wife, Holly Price Griffin of the home; daughter, Kayleigh Owen of the home; sisters, Kristen Crouse and husband Daniel and Paris Carr, both of Shelby; brothers, Travis Griffin of Shelby and Brandon Griffin of New Jersey; nephew, Haven Griffin; grandmother, Margie Hamrick of Shelby; and many God children and extended family. Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, January 8, 2023 at First Love Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Mullinax and Rev. Kenneth Queen officiating. The family will receive friends 1:30-3:00pm, prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
