Jamie Ann (Strickland) Johns, age 65, of Duncannon, and formerly of Dillsburg, died on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Jamie was born on Friday, August 5, 1960, in York to Donald Gottwalt and the late Helen Marie (Stump) Gottwalt. In addition to her mother, Jamie is preceded in death by her twin daughters: Carrie and Damara Johns; step sisters: Lisa Mann, Cathy Kuykendall; and her step brother: Rick Gottwalt.
Jamie’s surviving family includes her loving husband, Donald “Smoke” Bruce Johns; her three daughters: Heather Lynn Gorham and husband, Jeremy, of Newport, Krystal Marie Jones and husband, Raymond, of Mechanicsburg, Courtney Lee Johns of Duncannon; her six grandchildren: Claudia Schertzer and husband, Maxwell, Noah Murphy and wife, Skylah, Douglas Jones and wife, Andra, Brittany Jones, Mason Johns, Michael Jones; her great-grandson: Karson Jones; her sister: Sherry Shepard of New Cumberland; her half-sister: Pam Strickland of Dover; her two step sisters: Cindy Leydig of Hellam, Terry Gottwalt-Mayo of Greenville, NC; and her beloved black lab: Oreo.
Jamie graduated from York County Area Vo-Tech as part of the class of 1978. After completing her education, she worked in multiple capacities, most recently at Giant Food Store in Newport. Jamie had a deep affection for her dog, Oreo, and cherished moments with her family. She took great pleasure in cooking and frequently hosted her family for holiday meals. Her family was especially fond of her fried macaroni and cheese and chicken corn soup. Jamie will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
Jamie’s family will be remembering her life privately. Cremation was private.
