Obituary of Jamie Lee McMillian
Jamie Lee McMillan, our tender-hearted tough guy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 6, 2022, at St. Luke's Nampa Medical Center.
Born in Nampa, ID, he was the son of Merle McMillan and Judee (Miller) Rhea, he was also blessed to be raised by his father, Joe E. Miller.
From the time he was young, Jamie was always on the move – and usually preferred life in the fast lane. For years he battled with the disease of addiction where alcohol and drugs ruled every turn, and the road ahead was dark and dangerous. But thankfully God gave him a detour that would change not only the course of his life, but countless others. On June 4, 2004, Jamie stepped into his first NA meeting. Each day he fought to gain ground on the road to recovery and as a family, we express our heartfelt gratitude to the members of that group, his sponsors and all those that helped him become the man he was meant to be! He was a son, a brother, a friend, a father and even a Papa (because being a "freakin' awesome, grand-kid spoilin', truckin' country lovin', hog ridin' Badass" is not an official title.
He loved his Harley and was a proud member of the Alky Angels – riding into prisons throughout the region to spread the message of "Freedom on the Inside," – hope for the brothers and sisters who had lost their way. Jamie always said it was his time to "pay it forward" and he meant it. He had traveled the dark and dangerous roads of addiction and he wanted to help steer others in the right direction. We are amazed and blessed by countless stories of his kindness and good deeds and still enjoy laughing at just how stubborn he could be! Regardless, he loved with all he had. His hugs were the best - so strong they would almost break you. We will miss him so much but know we will see him again one day!
Jamie is survived by his mother, Judee (Clarence) Rhea, as well as his siblings, Gretchen Petersen, Lisa (Mark Cushing) Bell, Howard Miller, Jeanette (Ricky) Fore, Gary (Becky) McMillan and Richard McMillan, Kiki (Craig Owens) Miller and Larry Miller. His uncle Mike Howard, and his children Jenny (Matt) Carr, Jerod (Natasha) McMillan, Travis McMillan, Amber McMillan, & Cody McMillan along with his grandchildren, stepchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and both his fathers, Merle McMillan and the man who raised him, Joe E. Miller, as well as his angel niece, Amanda.
A memorial service will be held at the Gem County Fairgrounds - 4H Pavilion, 2199 S. Johns Ave. Emmett, ID 83617 at 12:30pm after which a light lunch will be served. Please help us honor Jamie's memory and "Pay It Forward." Each day, look for the good in life and help somebody if you can.
