Jamie Hires Smith

Jamie Hires Smith, 52, of Barwick, GA passed away on Thursday – April 24, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Gary Smith and was deeply loved by her family and friends.
She was born to the late James Gordon Hires Sr. and Mary Louise Spell, who survives. She attended Thomas County Central High School and spent her time volunteering with children and worked as a private sitter for the elderly. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her husband, Gary Smith of Barwick, GA, children, Haley Bush (Kayla Ballangee), Drew Villines (Jamie), her mother, Mary Robertson (Steven) of Barwick, GA, siblings, Wennie Lawson (Phillip) of Barwick, GA; Stephenie Cain (Tony) of Pelham, GA, James Gordon Hires Jr. of Boston, GA, Aunts & Uncles, Ann Hires (Lamar) of Pavo, GA, Lenora & David, and Alfred Hires of Valdosta, GA, and 23 cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, 6 uncles, and 1 aunt.
Funeral Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Sunday – April 27, 2025 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Alfred Carter officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.
