Jamison Craig Smith, affectionately known as Jamie, left this world on February 23, 2026, at the age of 55, in Shelbyville, Indiana. Born on August 27, 1970, in Wytheville, Virginia, Jamie was a beacon of kindness and warmth throughout his life.
Jamie pursued a career as an over-the-road trucker with Warren Transportation, a profession he loved passionately. Driving his semi-truck across the country allowed him to blend his adventurous spirit with his love for the open road, where he often found joy not just in the journey, but also in the diverse landscapes he encountered along the way.
His educational journey began at George Wythe High School, culminating in his graduation from Rural Retreat High School in 1989. Following school, he served his country with honor in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his character and perspective on life.
He was known for his kind and welcoming nature, always making others feel at ease with his generous spirit. Jamie cherished his time with family and was particularly adept in the kitchen, where he delighted those around him with his baking, especially his renowned cakes. He had an undeniable affection for his beloved fur babies, Tank, Oscar, and Pepper, who brought immense joy to his life.
Jamie is survived by his wife, Jessica Ann Brown Smith; his children, Tripp Watkins, Sawyer Smith, and Sydney Brown (Thomas); his mother, Terry Smith Price; his father, Robert "Rack" Edward Sawyers; his siblings, Anthony Price (Victoria), David Price, and Crystal Wynn (Myron); and his granddaughter, Charlotte Millie Brown. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, each of whom were touched by his generosity and love.
His life will be celebrated during a visitation on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM, at Farris Funeral Service – Main Street Chapel, located at 427 E Main St, Abingdon, VA 24210, with Pastor Allen Jesse officiating.
The legacy of Jamison Craig Smith will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him; his love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
