With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Janis Lee Heaton, affectionately know as Jan, who left us peacefully on September 13, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas. Born on January 11, 1937, in Brownwood Texas, Jan's gentle and loving spirit was a gift to all who knew her throughout her 88 years of life.

Jan's early years were steeped in the close-knit community of Goldthwaite, where she graduated from high school and was known for her love of books and learning. Her quest for knowledge and understanding was a lifelong endeavor that continued to blossom as she grew.

Jan devoted her life to nurturing and caring for others. Her career as a caregiver was a testament to her thoughtful nature. Whether she was working in church nurseries or looking after children in her home, Jan took immense pride in helping those around her. Her unwavering commitment to service was a hallmark of her character, deeply rooted in her Christian faith.

Jan's family was the cornerstone of her life. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her son Robert Teague; son Michael and his wife Sharon Teague; granddaughter Morgan and her husband Cam Wiehe; great-grandson Truett Wiehe; daughter Debra and her husband Chris Medford. Jan was predeceased by her son Donald Teague and her parents, Lee and Myrtle White, as well as her sister Margaret White.

Beyond her dedication to family and her passion for caregiving, Jan had a zest for life that was expressed through her various interests. She was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures. A voracious reader, Jan could often be found with a book in hand, lost in the pages of a captivating story. Her love for learning never waned, and she constantly sought to acquire new knowledge.

Jan's intellectual pursuits were matched by her love of the game Scrabble, where she delighted in finding new words to best her opponents. Her home was a sanctuary where she tenderly cared for her plants, creating an oasis of tranquility and beauty. Jan's affection for her cat was well-known, and the bond they shared brought her immense joy.

To describe Jan as gentle, loving, and thoughtful is to capture only a glimpse of the extraordinary person she was. Her kindness radiated, touching the lives of those she encountered. Her presence was a comfort, her smile a beacon of warmth.

As we bid farewell to Janis Lee Heaton, we hold tightly to the memories she has left behind. Her spirit, characterized by compassion and grace, will continue to inspire and guide us. We celebrate the remarkable life of Jan, a woman who gave so much and asked for so little in return. Her legacy of love and kindness will endure a testament to a life well-lived.
