Janae was born in Utah, July 19,1959 to her loving parents Almer Colledge and Marilyn Farrer. She was an active participant with her brother Jan and sisters Jeana & Janette, enjoying childhood fun creating memories while living in Pleasant Grove later moving to Heber City, Utah. Growing up in a small town, one of her favorite jobs was working on the “Heber Creeper”, a steam train that transported tourist through scenic Heber valley down Provo canyon and return. She also played a variety of sports while in high school and upon graduating from Wasatch High she was awarded a scholarship to play basketball for then Dixie college in St George, Utah.
Janae continued to live and work in St George for several years before moving to Mesquite Nevada where she lived for over 40 years. Janae worked for several resort/casino properties in Mesquite but most of her career she was employed by the Eureka Casino Resort as their Executive Housekeeper. She was a good manager, well respected, and treated people fairly. She was always good to people and could talk to anyone. She often commented that she loved her “Eureka Family”.
While living in Mesquite, Janae met her best friend and forever companion Beverely Edwards. They shared a life together for 28 years, 14 in marriage. They purchased a home and shared joyful times fishing, camping, visiting family, and always enjoying their desert oasis.
Janae was good to her core. She had that half smile, sparkle in her eye, and good fun whit. She loved music and knew songs and artists of all genres. She grew up with music from her early childhood singing old country songs with her dad and siblings then later ventured into rock & roll. She loved sitting on her patio listening to her favorite tunes, backroad adventures with her brother, tailgate picnics, desert evening campfires with family and friends, good fun conversations, laughter, and beautiful desert sunsets.
Janae was a rare gem loved and enjoyed by those who knew her. She was at peace with herself. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.
“Amazing grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me,
I once was lost, but now I’m found,
Was blind, but now I see.”
