Jane D. Ahr

Jane D. Ahr, a cherished daughter, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, and steadfast friend, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 9, 1938, Jane lived a life brimming with love, laughter, and community spirit, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be engraved in the hearts of those who knew her.

Jane married Brian Wrenshall in 1955 and together they had five children. They remember her planning meticulously detailed three-day weekend adventures during their childhood and in doing so, she created memories that would last a lifetime.

Jane was a proud alumna of Metro State College in Denver, where she earned her degree in accounting. She worked for a time helping small businesses with their taxes.

Later in life, Jane became a vibrant force within her community of Pine Grove. Her wit and energy infused every gathering she organized, including the Annual Rhubarb Festival which she helped to put on through the Pine Elk Creek Improvement Association.

Her commitment to family was also evident, whether it was organizing unforgettable family gatherings and decorating her home for the holidays or indulging in her love for gardening—she particularly cherished her beloved petunias.

Together with her second husband, Fred, Jane was proud homeowner of a beautiful, historical hotel built in 1886. She dedicated herself to maintaining and furnishing the space in period-appropriate elegance. This home became a gathering place filled with laughter and joy, showcasing her love for entertaining and connecting with others.

Jane's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her journey of raising and nurturing her five children. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred Ahr, sons David Wrenshall (Linda), Steven Wrenshall (Revel) and Kevin Wrenshall and daughter Kathy Rose (Larry), nine adoring grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her incredible spirit within their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her dear daughter, Lisa Wrenshall, whose memory will always be cherished and honored in the family she so lovingly nurtured.

As we reflect on Jane’s life, we remember a woman who was not just a mother but a beacon of strength and love. Her kindness, energy, and unwavering commitment to her family and community have left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will undoubtedly continue to inspire and guide her family, a testament to the deep love she cultivated throughout her life.
