Jane Boden Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 9, 2025.
Jane Boden (Kitzler), 68, of Carey, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay, surrounded by those she loved.
Born at home on May 29, 1957, in Crawford Township, Ohio, Jane was the daughter of the late Harold Leo and Ruth Mae (Fox) Kitzler. She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Korey) Fourman and Kyle Boden; grandchildren, Nickolas, Gavin, Mikylyn, and Amelia; and siblings, Jo Lynn (James) Nye, Cheryl Buchannon, Joseph (Penny) Kitzler, Agnes (Dennis) Pfeifer, Jackie (Todd) Miller, and Jill (David) Saum. She was also cherished by 19 nieces and nephews and 28 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Leo "Jr." Kitzler, John Kitzler, and James "Jimbo" Kitzler.
A 1975 graduate of Carey High School, Jane lived her life with a vibrant and unmistakable spirit. Fiercely independent and endlessly generous, she cared for others in the ways she knew best-through cooking, conversation, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She loved food in all forms, whether she was watching cooking shows, trying new recipes, or making sure her loved ones left her house with full stomachs, full hearts and one ever left without a to-go box or a smile. And in classic Jane fashion, guests were welcome to anything they needed in her home, just be sure to "leave a quarter on the toilet," when you use it.
Jane enjoyed the simple comforts of life, HGTV, Yellowstone marathons, and anything that let her learn, laugh, or relax. She worked in many roles over the years, including factory work, waitressing, and cooking. No matter the job, she did it with determination and skill. Jane could do anything she set her mind to.
To her children's friends, she was often "Mom," a safe and steady presence who offered guidance, comfort, and unconditional acceptance. If someone needed a place to land, she opened her door. If someone needed advice, she gave it honestly. If someone needed love, she had an endless supply.
She loved being outdoors, especially walking by the "crik" at her mother's old property-a quiet, familiar place that brought her peace. She also enjoyed working in her garden, though everyone knew she mostly loved snacking on the vegetables while she worked.
A free spirit and a true social butterfly, Jane never met a stranger. Quick-witted, intelligent, and endlessly curious, she embraced life with humor and enthusiasm. She loved dancing, traveling, and taking on every new adventure with courage. Her ability to speak Japanese was just one example of her lifelong eagerness to learn more about the world.
Jane's kindness, humor, and boundless love touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, joy, and unforgettable moments shared with family, friends, and the many people she welcomed so easily into her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A time to gather and celebrate Jane's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Stombaugh-Batton & Snyder Funeral Home in Carey.
