Malachi Javens Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Marion Avenue Chapel on Dec. 10, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our precious Malachi Thomas Javens, who was born an angel on December 6, 2025 at Avita Ontario Hospital, to his parents, Cherish and John Javens. Malachi now joins his big sister, Ellie Rose in Heaven with other beloved family members.
Just like her pregnancy with Malachi's big sister Ellie, Cherish craved ice cream and all things peanut butter, especially Reese's cups.
Malachi's parents, Cherish and John, were childhood friends who turned into a storybook romance. Knowing each other from the ages of 12 and 14, they dated nearly a decade before deciding it was time to get married and start a family. John and Cherish were married on October 25, 2018. They had a healthy son, Kyson, in October 2022.
Kyson loved to listen to the sound of his brother's heartbeat inside mommy's belly and little Malachi loved to hear his big brother and daddy talk to him. When family or friends would ask big brother Kyson about baby Malachi, he would proudly say, "that's my baby!". Malachi Thomas was proudly named after his paternal grandfather, John Thomas Javens
Cherish and John are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support from family and friends during this difficult time. A donation fund was established and will be used to purchase a future memorial marker. A monetary donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. The link is https://gofund.me/172f52f3e
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Avita Ontario Hospital for their care and kindness.
Malachi is survived by his loving family: parents John Paul and Cherish Nicole (Goldmann) Javens of Mansfield; brother Kyson Javens, age 4; maternal grandparents Elisha McCauley and Sean Goldmann, Sr.; paternal grandparents Holly Javens and John Javens; step-grandfather Glen Adkins; great-grandparents Paul and Becky McCauley; Aunt Madison and Uncle Trace Shifflet; Uncle Sean Goldmann, Jr.; Uncle Trey, Uncle Ray, and Uncle Tyler Adkins; cousins Asher, Remy, and Zayden; great-aunt Kristy Holsinger; great-uncle Bub McCauley; and extended cousins Cody (Amanda) their son Kayden, Bree, and James.
Malachi was greeted in Heaven by his big sister Ellie Rose, who sadly passed away on May 28, 2024; his great-uncle Robbie "Robbone" Holsinger; and great-grandma Mary Javens, great-grandpa John Javens, great-grandma & great-grandpa Goldmann, great-grandma & great-grandpa Hamilton, and great-great-grandma Rosalie.
The family now has two little angels watching over them with love from above. Private services will be observed in the following days for immediate family.
Rest in peace, our beloved Malachi. You will always be in our hearts.
