Jane Bowman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Swartz-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 21, 2026.
Jane Bowman, age 88, passed away on January 19, 2026, following a brief illness. She was born on November 26, 1937, in Newtown, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Mary and Maurice Creighton.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Howard Bowman, known as "Skeets." Together they shared a lifetime of love, family, and community.

She is survived by her three daughters: Elaine Shupp; Debbie Perks and her husband, Tim Perks; Karen Pannabecker and her husband, James Pannabecker. Jane was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Jodie Binder and her husband, Brad Binder; Jackie Forsyth and her husband, Todd Forsyth; Becky Bubbenmoyer and her husband, Tyler Bubbenmoyer; Kayleen Parks and her husband, Bill Parks; and Adam Pannabecker. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Avery Forsyth, Chase Binder, Olivia Parks, Riley Parks, Braydon McDermott, and Emery Bubbenmoyer.

Jane is also survived by her two sisters, Kay Parry and Sue Wendell, and her beloved dog, Willow, who was a constant companion. Her siblings preceding her in death were William Creighton, Edith Dimmick, Barbara Erb, Carol Douglas, Linda Gray, Robert Creighton and Richard Creighton.

An active member of Newtown United Methodist Church, Jane cherished the many friendships she formed there over the years. She was an avid bowler and continued to bowl well into her eighties, a testament to her remarkable energy and enthusiasm for life. Jane worked as a bookkeeper at Barry Luff's Service Center before later joining First National Bank of Newtown.

Jane had the energy of someone much younger and loved nothing more than talking with-and about-her family, which was her greatest joy. Though she will be missed deeply, her laughter, warmth, and positive spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jane's Life Celebration on Saturday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m and to her funeral service at 12 Noon, at the Newtown United Methodist Church, Liberty and Green Streets, Newtown. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Newtown United Methodist Church, 35 Liberty Street, Newtown, PA 18940.
