Obituary of Jane R. Brautigam
Jane Ritchie Brautigam, formerly of Newark, DE passed away in Glastonbury, CT on April 4, 2024, at the age of ninety-two.
Jane was born on March 30, 1932, in Abington, PA and grew up in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Robert Ritchie and Isabelle C. Ritchie. She was preceded in death also by her brother Lt Cdr Robert Ritchie, Jr. USNR, and her loving husband of 63 years Richard H. Brautigam. She graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia, PA class of February 1950. She was ordained an Elder in the Presbyterian Church in 1962 and served as a ruling Elder in both the First Presbyterian Church, Dayton, NJ and Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church, Newark, DE. She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Dawn Brautigam of Cape May, NJ; her son, Robert T. Brautigam, MD of Glastonbury; her daughter-in-law, Susan M. Ambrose, MD of Glastonbury; her grandchildren who were the loves of her life, Jonathan R. Brautigam and Sarah L. Brautigam, both of Glastonbury, CT; and her nephew, Robert J. Ritchie and his family of Philadelphia, PA.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Huntington Valley, PA. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to "Town of Glastonbury - Flags on Main Street Fund," PO Box 6523, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
