In Loving Memory of Mama Jane Leslie Brown - beloved wife, mother, and grandmother was born March 7th, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, to Robert Leslie Lamont and Marilyn Ann Masten. Jane passed way Sunday morning March 15, 2026 at home with her family.

Janie is lovingly remembered by her husband Elwood Neil Brown; her children, Daniel, Kelley (Curtis), and Lindsay (Andy); and her many cherished grandchildren.

She worked for many years as an aide in kindergarten classrooms and faithfully cared for children in the choir nursery at her church. Her love for her grandchildren is evident in the fact that her family could hardly find a single photograph of her without a grandchild in her arms - as seen in this photo of her holding her grandson, Riley.

An avid reader, always on the lookout for "new-to-her" old books, Janie also loved, sewing, gardening, canning, and camping.

She will be most remembered for her deep and abiding love for her husband, Elwood. Often seen walking hand in hand, they remained truly best friends though the decades. Their marriage was marked by quiet devotion, shared laughter, and the comfort of a life built together.

Janie's life was one of simple joys - Her enduring faith, family gathered close, books well loved, gardens tended, and grandchildren always nearby. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and steadfast love that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family. She now rests in the peace of the Lord she trusted throughout her life. "I will miss you always, Mama. With all my love, your daughter Lindsay"

A private ceremony has been held for Janie. Family and Friends are invited to support the family by sharing condolences on Janie's Tribute page at www.PrayFuneral.com. If desired, the family suggests memorial contributions to the family to help defray funeral expenses. The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
