Jane Roane deGravelles

Jane Roane deGravelles, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 95 on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and love.

As we mourn Jane's passing, we also celebrate the life she lived. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will be observed at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette, LA on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Jane was born at Shadyside Plantation in Calumet, LA to Donald Charles Roane and Irene Millet Roane on March 13, 1930, but spent her growing up years in Jeanerette, LA. Upon marrying Percy "Pete" J. deGravelles in 1951, Jane moved to Franklin, LA, where they started their family and raised their five daughters. In 1991, they moved to Lafayette; she resided there and had a full life until her death. As a devoted mother, Jane dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. In addition to her profound love for her family, she was an avid tennis and bridge player.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind, including her five daughters, Roane Risher (Greg), Judith Boutte (R.J.), Carol Williams (Rick), Renée DeMoss (Mark) and Diane Trull (Steve); her seven grandchildren, Steven Risher (Stephanie), David Risher (Casey), Katherine Langlois (Brad), Scott Boutte (Dana), Jane Ritchie (Justin), Parker Williams (Laken) and Garic Williams (Brooke). She is further survived by 15 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by Pete deGravelles, her husband of 54 years; her parents, Donald and Irene Roane and her siblings, Donald Roane, Jr., Barbara Patout and Carolyn Roane, as well as many in-laws.

The family would like to thank The Blake Assisted Living Community, Kathy Zeringue, Lisa Chargois and Heart of Hospice for their excellent care and friendships that they provided to Jane and her family.
