Jane M. Dufendock, 67, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Jane was born on August 14, 1958, in Oregon, Ohio, to Raymond and Ruth (Hughes) Habel. On September 21, 1990, she married William Dufendock, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Jane dedicated 32 years of service as a dispatcher to the Sylvania Police Department. After her retirement, she continued working at Rite Aid Pharmacy in Genoa, where she enjoyed staying connected with the community.
Jane found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved exploring flea markets and shopping at garage sales, always searching for a special find. She also enjoyed traveling to Frankenmuth, Michigan, and visiting Ohio's Amish Country. Above all, Jane treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a passion for gardening and a fondness for the color purple. Jane was a proud member of the Genoa American Legion Auxiliary, where she also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with friends. Jane will be remembered for her warm heart, love of family, and the many memories she created with those around her.
Jane is survived by her husband of 35 years, William; children, William (Holly) Dufendock, Leeann Dufendock (Jerry Johnson), and Amber (Dennis Jr. ) Lingler; grandchildren, Mike, Zach, Coty, Cole, Seth (Alexis), Kennedy, Kendall, Dennis III, and Brantley; siblings, Robert (Becky) Habel, Roger (Shelly) Habel, Joy (Chris) Elliott, Jeannie Gose, and Janice (Lamar) Baker; along with many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joanne.
A Celebration of Janes life will be held at the Genoa American Legion Hall, 302 West Street, Genoa, Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Genoa American Legion Auxiliary. Robinson Walker Funeral Home assisting the family with arrangements.
