William Dufendock Obituary

DUFENDOCK William H. M.D. William H. Dufendock, M.D., 96, of Genoa, OH died Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Genoa Retirement Village, Genoa. He was born on December 6, 1910, in Clay Center, OH to William F and Emma A. (Bensch) Dufendock. On June 29, 1940, in Toledo, OH he married Frieda Marie (Stausmire) and she preceded him in death on November 4, 1993. William graduated from Genoa High School in 1928. He then graduated from the University of Toledo, and the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1938. William served his internship at Flower Hospital, Toledo, and later practiced at Riverside, Flower, St. Charles, and Mercy Hospitals. In 1939, along with Dr. J.C. Bowman, William started his family practice in Genoa, where he practiced for over 50 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Genoa, and a member of the American Medical Association. William loved to read and also enjoyed hunting. Survivors include: daughter, Kay A. (Ron) Elwing of Genoa; sons, William (Jane) C. Dufendock of Genoa and Jan P. (Melody) Dufendock of Genoa; 7 grandchildren, Erika (Jim) Mihlbauer, Dirk Elwing, Bill (Holly) Dufendock, Leeann Dufendock, Amber Dufendock, Wendy (Jim) Wirick, and Philip (Jody) Dufendock; 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and 2 sisters, Luella Salisbury and Margaret Boysen. Private graveside services will be conducted. Interment will be in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District # 3. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com

Doc your going to be so missed I was hoping to see you next week but I guess God had plans for you so he called you home Your heart won,t have any more sorrows now its just rejoying pure happiness that you have always desived Frieda has waited for you I know your holding each other Love you and will miss you
