Jane Wilkens Gesaman (nee Wilkens) age 79, beloved wife for over 52 years of Bruce; loving mother of Amanda Lukacsko (Aaron); devoted grandmother of Stuart Lukacsko; cherished daughter of the late William and Eleanor (nee Vlcek) Wilkens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jane to the American Lung Association or the Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland.
Jane was born on November 29, 1944 in Cleveland, OH and passed away on March 17, 2024 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was a 1963 graduate of South High School and continued her education at Baldwin-Wallace where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. After graduation, Jane taught English at Valley Forge High School where she met her husband, Bruce. Jane also worked as a librarian at the Parma Heights branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library for many years. Jane was a member of the Friedens U.C.C. She enjoyed spending time sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking and was a very avid reader. Those that were lucky enough to know Jane would describe her as a family-oriented person with a keen wit and great sense of humor who could always find something to laugh about even in the toughest of times. She will truly be missed by all who were privileged enough to know her.
Celebration of Life Service Saturday March 30, 2024 at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at Whitehaven Memorial Park. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jane at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SATURDAY 10-11 AM.
