Ivan - I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Janie. She and Mary always had such wonderful senses of humor and were always sharing laughs. They are together again. The two of you shared many wonderful memories. I will keep both you and Janie in my prayers.

What a blast I had with Aunt Janie when I was a kid. When I stayed overnight at Grandma´s house, Aunt Janie would stop in and take us out for pizza at Dan-Jo Marie´s in downtown Troy. We´d play "Cathy´s Clown" on the jukebox and laugh at how spicy the pizza was. In the 1980s she and Uncle Ivan showed up in my office in downtown Albany. It turned out that when she worked in the steno pool years before, she sat in the exact same spot as my desk. In 1985, we both worked in the same building at the State Campus, where I´d see her every day sitting in the phone booth, probably talking to my mother. I referred to the last booth on the right as the "Jane Gordon Memorial Phone Booth". Aunt Janie was always one to laugh, which no doubt contributed to her longevity. She appeared in a Q&A in the Times Union on January 29, 1953, where she was asked whether she was an optimist or a pessimist. To no one´s surprise, she rated herself as an optimist. When I saw her on her 90th birthday, I told her we had a date for her 100th birthday so we could have some more laughs. While she didn´t quite make it, her optimism and humor carried her far. I´ll always remember the fun times we had. To use one of your favorite phrases, "You're a corker!"

To All the Hilts - So sorry to hear about your Aunt Janie. She lived a good life and I know you all loved her. May all the fun times you shared with her help to ease the grief you are going through now. Love to all, Babs
