Jane Ann Harless, 93, of Washington, IL passed away at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

She was born in Bloomington, IN, on January 17, 1932, to Floyd and Wilma Stafford. She married Alan John Harless on August 10, 1952. She attended Purdue University and then, after raising her children, went back to college and graduated from Eureka College with a teaching degree.

She taught school for several years at Robein School until she and Alan moved back to Indiana to start their own business, which they successfully ran together until they retired and moved to Hot Springs Village, AR, in 1996. Jane enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and most of all, quilting. She was instrumental in organizing the Hot Springs Village Quilt Guild, which is still thriving after 37 years.

Alan preceded Jane in death on July 22, 2014, and Jane moved back to the Washington area in 2017, where she reunited with long-time friends and made many new ones. She was always complimented on her beautiful smile and blue eyes. She lived the past 2 years at Villas of Holly Brook in Washington and loved everyone there.

Jane is survived by her children, Marsha (Dave) Reeise of Metamora, IL, Elaine (Barry) Miller of Lovington, NM, Mark (Cindy) Harless of Lakewood, CO, and Janet (Walt) Frakes of Washington, IL. 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Jane was a member of Washington Presbyterian Church, and a memorial service will be held there at 1:00pm on Friday, August 16, 2025. Visitation will be from noon until her time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Washington Presbyterian Church. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
