Jane C. Hatch

Jane C. Hatch, age 96, went home to be with the Lord on December 5th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong resident of Akron born on December 23, 1926 to parents William and Betty Campbell. She attended the University of Akron where she met the love of her life Don Hatch. They were married in 1948 and together they raised their family.
Jane truly loved her family and went on many camping and travel adventures with them seeing much of the USA and places abroad. At home in Akron, she loved singing and crafting with her dear church friends and played piano many Sundays. Jane's passion for music extended to her long career as an accompanist and piano teacher, sharing her knowledge with over 1,000 students. She also shared her crafting talent by serving as the Craft Chairman for 34 years at the EAA Airshow in Oshkosh and received their prestigious Presidential Award for her service.
Preceded in death by her parents; her devoted husband, Don; her daughter, Nancy Castanaro; son-in-law, Roy Mook; and her five brothers. She is survived by her children, Tom Hatch (Janice), Susan Mook, and David Hatch (Michele); seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the loving and caring staff at The Inn at Apple Ridge and Miracle City Hospice. In Jane's own words, "I want to thank my beloved family and friends for sharing in my life and for making it so worthwhile and wonderful."
Memorial service will take place at 3 PM WEDNESDAY, December 13th at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Road, Akron, OH 44333. Friends may call from 1 PM until the time of service. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
