She was born in Plattsburgh on June 9, 1935 the daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Saxe) Fulton.
Jane graduated from Skidmore College.
She married Wendell T. Hess on June 16, 1956 at the Chazy Methodist Church.
Jane was a member of Lexington Masterworks Chorale, Emerson Hospital Auxiliary in Concord, MA, American Guild of Organists, Chazy Central Rural School Alumni Committee, Pianist for CCRS Graduations, Champlain Valley Voices (formerly Champlain Valley Oratorio Society). She was also a member of Friends of Chazy Library, Docent for Rockwell Kent Collection SUNY in Plattsburgh, Red Hatters, Piano teacher in Acton, MA, Presbyterian Women's group, Organist Acton Congregational Church and the Chazy Presbyterian Church.
Jane enjoyed Line dancing at the YMCA.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen and Ralph Blanchard and JoAnne and Nick Facendola, and one son, Rob Hess and Monica Keefe-Hess; grandchildren, Linda, Derek, Scott, and Kevin Blanchard; Jennifer and Jackie Facendola; and Anya and Ciara Hess; step-grandchildren, Brendan and Kay Hamaty; and two nieces and one nephew.
She was predeceased by her husband, her parents, brother, Robert Fulton, sister, Susan VanVranken and brother-in-law, Douglas.
Memorial donations may be made to the Chazy Presbyterian Church, or CPC P.O. Box 548, Chazy, NY 12921 or the Girl Scouts of Northeastern, NY, Attn: Fund Development, 8 Mountain View Ave, Albany, NY 12205, In Memory of Jane Hess.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Chazy Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Chazy.
