Jane Candace Hoffman passed from this world on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Wilmington, NC at the age of 72.
She was born March 10, 1953 in Anderson, Indiana to Irene and Perry Bush. She attended Madison Heights High School before eventually achieving her nursing degree from Anderson University.
Jane made her career in caring for others. She worked as an obstetric nurse, as well as an RN at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina and in the OR at Novant New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina.
In addition to helping others, Jane’s passion was her creativity. She was a talented craftswoman, a meticulous seamstress and a talented cake decorator known for her exquisite wedding cakes – a skill she learned from her mother. She loved the challenge of learning to make new things from woodworking to printmaking, and bringing her art to others from her craft booths. She was also an avid tennis player and an excellent swimmer, passing on her love of the sport to her son.
Jane will be dearly missed by family & friends including her son Wes, daughter-in-law Andrea and granddaughters Brynn and Hallie; siblings Linda (Jim) Marlowe, Perry (Becky) Bush, and Carole (Dan) James as well as several nieces and nephews, work friends and special neighbors.
A private gravesite service will take place at a later date in Anderson, IN. In lieu of condolences, donations may be made in Jane’s name to the Dr. Robert M. Fales Hospice Pavilion where Jane spent the last week of her life with exceptionally kind staff and volunteers.
