Janet Johnson Obituary
She started teaching in Effingham County in 1975, first at the middle school and then moving to the high school in 1979 where she taught English and coached many of the academic teams to state and national championships. After retiring in 1999, she taught at GSU and was a founder of CCAT, now the Statesboro STEAM Academy charter school. One of her favorite things was watching a student figure something out and finally get it.
She loved her family, her students, her faith in Jesus Christ, books, crossword puzzles, writing, theater and traveling.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard (2024), her son Eric (2009) and granddaughter Heather (2015), she is survived by her children: Stuart, Ryan, Alex, Anja (Sonny) and Beth-Anee (John), 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Services will be held on 10 October, 2025 at the LDS Chapel in Declo ID at 1:00pm
