Ronald “Ryan” Berrett, known to family and friends as Ryan, passed away at his home in Roberts, Idaho on October 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, siblings, and best friend. He was under the care of HEI Hospice.
He was 64 years old.
Ryan was born on July 20, 1961, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ronald P. Berrett and Betty J. Christensen Berrett. He grew up in Roberts and graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1979. He went on to complete the vocational technical program and automobile repair program at Idaho State University in 1981.
Ryan married Teresa Gould in 1982 and later divorced in 1995. In 1998, he married Lanie McCormick, who remained his devoted wife until his passing.
A man of many trades, Ryan worked hard throughout his life-farming, serving with the Roberts QRU, and spending many years as a skilled welder with American Fabrication. In 2016, he proudly accepted what he called his favorite job title: full-time babysitter to his grandson, Hunter.
Ryan was an artist at heart. He loved playing the guitar, welding, gardening, antiquing with Hunter, creating handmade canes, and whittling crosses. He was very artistic and made beautiful art.
He is survived by his wife, Lanie Berrett; daughter, Amy (Jordan Klug) Berrett, brother, Rick (Misty) Berrett, sister, Rawna (Bo) Maestas, and his grandson Hunter Ryan Klug.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald P. and Betty J. Berrett, and his son Eric Ryan Berrett.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby, (101 West Main Street) with a visitation prior from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
