Jane Lamora Obituary
Mrs. Jane E. (McGrath) Lamora, 96, of Milford MA died Saturday evening (September 28, 2024) at the Blackstone Valley Health & Rehabilitation in Whitinsville MA after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert K. Lamora who died in 2017.
Jane was born in Milford MA, the daughter of the late William McGrath and the late Lillian (Ranahan) McGrath White. She attended Milford public schools as a young girl and was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1946.
Jane was first employed as a young woman, working as a clerk at the former Public Cleaners located on Main Street in Milford. She later worked as the bookkeeper at Car-Leo Floor Covering located in Milford MA, from which she retired in 1990.
Jane had resided in Hopedale MA for most of her life, until moving in with her daughter Susan later in life. She had been a member of the Emblem Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Jane is survived by her daughter: Susan J. Niro and her husband David Niro of Sandwich MA; her 2 granddaughters: Nicole Cheschi of Milford MA and Corrie, wife of John Hughes of Bridgewater MA; her 4 great grandchildren: Anthony Cheschi of Milford MA, Olivia Cheschi of Milford MA, Lillian Hughes of Bridgewater MA and Evie Hughes of Bridgewater MA; also several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday (October 4th) from the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 19 Winter Street, Milford MA. Burial will follow in Hopedale Village Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Friday (October 4th) from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, prior to her Funeral Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Oliva Cancer Comfort Fund, c/o the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, 14 Prospect Street, Milford MA 01757.
