Jane Lemire Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bacon Funeral Home on Mar. 18, 2024.
In a perfect world, the definition of Indomitable would include the name Jane Lemire. Over the last 25 years, she endured hardship after hardship and continued to maintain both her independence and her dignity. Of course, if this were a perfect world she would still be with us.
Jane Lemire, 64, of Storrs, passed peacefully from this life on March 14, 2024. She was born November 3, 1959, in Willimantic, the daughter of the late Albert and Rita Lemire. She attended St. Mary's, Windham High, and Eastern Connecticut State University. During high school she was a member of the tennis and badminton teams, ranking in state doubles. She was artistic, athletic, articulate, quick witted, and a bright light to those who knew her. Jane loved animals and the environment, continuing to be a proponent for both through donations to her favorite causes.
Jane, who cared deeply for her family, is survived by her brother Dan Lemire (Karen); sister Carolyn Miller (Walter); nieces and nephews Kate, Kristin, Dan, and Cheryl; great nieces and nephews Cullan, Ashton, Charlie, Ashley, Taylor, and Gavyn. She also leaves behind adopted siblings/cousins Pat Hunter, Nita and Alan Giordano, Rod and Lisa Lemire, and George Lemire; as well as many good friends including Jen Mazon, Greg Sweeney, Jeff Masi, Joanne Hanson, Tom Garceau, and Vera Hersey. Jane was predeceased by her brother Steve.
The family would like to thank the staff of MidState Medical Center in Meriden for their tireless care and compassion.
Graveside services for Jane will be at the convenience of family and close friends. For those inclined to show expressions of love, please consider donating to your local animal shelter. To send an online expression of sympathy, please visit www.baconfh.com
