Jane Ann "Duchowny" MacDougall

TROY Jane Ann MacDougall, 65, of Marion Ave. passed away Saturday January 10, 2026 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mae Ouimette Duchowny. She was a 1978 graduate of Lansingburgh High School.

Jane had been employed at St. Mary's Hospital as a Medical Manager and retired in 2009. She had also been employed at Glaucoma Services PC in Albany and Jeff Murad MD in Troy and Clifton Park.

She was a member of the Pleasantdale Fire Department, Troy Youth Leaders, the New York State Bowling Association, Joy Us Foundation and American Breast Cancer Foundation.

A very giving person, Jane was fondly referred to as a "professional volunteer" and had recently received an award from both the Rensselaer County ARC and Pleasantdale Fire Department. She enjoyed crafting, bowling, camping and fishing.

Jane was predeceased by her husband John I MacDougall III who died in 2023. She is survived by her daughter Courtney Painton (Stephen) of Troy and her sister Tessie Morris (Richard) of Conway, SC. She is predeceased by her siblings, Eugene, Thomas, Michael, Frank and Luke Duchowny. She was the proud grandmother of Jace-Tyler Horton and Sophia Laki. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 6 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-6 pm prior to the memorial service.
