Jane Louise Malaby, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 8, 1958, in Norfolk, VA, Jane dedicated over 20 years of her career to Capitol Express, where she made lasting connections and contributed to her community.
Jane was known for her kind spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to those around her. She was a loving and attentive mother to her daughters, Annemarie Faith Barton and Amanda Lynn Barton, and her pride for them was evident to all. As a grandmother, she found immense joy in her grandchildren—Savannah, Amelea, and James II—cherishing each moment spent with them. Her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed, as she was a great listener who provided comfort and support to family and friends alike.
In her quieter moments, Jane enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She found solace in coloring and drawing, letting her creativity flow alongside her love for music. Many afternoons were spent on her porch, soaking in the beauty of nature and reflecting on life's many blessings.
Jane is survived by her daughters, Annemarie and Amanda; her beloved grandchildren, Savannah, Amelea, and James II; her siblings, Linda Malaby, Teresa Clegg, and John (Susan) Malaby; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will hold her memory close to their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Malaby and sister, Patty Hoy.
Family and friends are invited to honor Jane’s life and legacy at a visitation on March 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northeast, located at 3047 E Dublin Granville Rd, Columbus, OH. Jane's gentle spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
