Jane Marie Mallory, 86, of Erie and Edinboro, died Saturday, August 2, 2025. She was born in Erie on May 9, 1939 the daughter of the late Ted and Helen Hecker.

Jane grew up in Crossingville, Pa where her family owned and operated a bait stand out of their home. In one night, Jane picked a record 1600 night-crawlers!

She graduated from Cambridge Springs High School in 1956. She had previously worked at AMSCO in the purchasing department and at Hammermill Paper Co. in the accounts payable and then the truck fleet division where she met her future husband, Tom.

Jane enjoyed four-wheeling, square dancing, playing cards, gardening, and casino trips. "Duck Grandma's" most cherished memories were spent  with her beloved children and grandchildren at Beaver Lodge, their treasured 63 acres of country paradise. She was a member of various 500 & euchre clubs, and the Albion Senior Center. Tom and Jane had visited every state including Alaska and Hawaii. Jane was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Erie.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Hecker and a sister, Bernadine Pietrowski.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas A. Mallory; a son, Tom Mallory, Jr., of Edinboro; a daughter, Mallory (Art Hilinski) Lewis of Edinboro; a brother, Tommy (Pat) Hecker of Minnesota; a sister, Sara Wright of Meadville; two sister-in-laws, Eileen Hecker of Erie and Sue Mallory of California; six grandchildren, Megan (Ryan) Panella, Noelle (Tyler) Stebbins, Brett Mallory, April Mallory and Nick and Mike Hilinski; also two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Allie Panella; and a close friend, Carol Hall.

Friends may call at Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 3 - 6 pm. A short funeral service will follow at 6 pm.

Burial will be private in St. James Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Northwestern Senior Center, 9 Academy St., Albion, PA 16401.
