Don David Kurhan passed away unexpectedly at his home in Linesville, PA in February 2026. He was 54 years old.
Don was born on September 7, 1971 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to his parents Sandra Saeger (nee Dunlap) and Donald Kurhan. He was a graduate of Meadville Area Senior High School where he excelled on the field in both baseball and football. He was also a proud graduate of Edinboro University, earning a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. At the time of his death, he was employed as a supervisor at MFG Manufacturing in Linesville.
Don is survived by his life partner, Valerie Peters and their beloved daughter, Addysan. For Don, being a devoted and proud father was his highest calling. He delighted in Addy’s academic and athletic accomplishments and treasured each moment that they spent together, whether cheering her and her teammates on at school basketball or volleyball games, fishing Pymatuning lake, playing board or video games, or listening to music. He always looked forward to their New Years Eve tradition of chicken wings, pear champagne (non-alcoholic), Yahtzee and music, until the ball dropped. Addy was always and will always be the true joy and light of his life.
In addition to Val and Addy, Don is survived by his half-brother, Chris Holobar, his niece Krista and nephew Nathaniel, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who feel his loss deeply. He is pre-deceased by both parents, his half-brother Kim Kurhan and half-sister Nikki Lisi.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville from 1-3 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Crawford County Suicide Task Force.
