Jane Martin (we won't mention that detested first name) was born in Fredericktown, Missouri on August 9, 1930. She was called home to be with her husband, John, on May 29, 2025 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by John, their son Alan, and daughters-in-law Susie and Karen, as well as all of her brothers and all of her sisters.
Jane and John were married November 19, 1948. To this union four children were born, Richard, Alan, David (the Golden child), and Karen. They stopped when they achieved perfection on the fourth try.
Jane led a full life up until her death. She worked as a dietician for the Farmington MO school district for over 25 years. She was an excellent cook (a trait her daughter did not inherit, but David did). She was fortunate to be able to remain independently in her home until the end. She and John traveled extensively, played golf and square danced in their retirement. Her favorite destination was Hawaii, to which they traveled several times. After his death, she continued to travel and play golf until into her late 80's. She enjoyed going to movies and playing cards (sometimes fudging a bit) with her friends. She was very social and loved spending time with her and John's families as well as their many friends.
Jane is survived by her children Richard, Grand Prairie TX; David (Gloria), Troy MO; and Karen Herrmann (Gary), Springfield MO; grandchildren Todd Martin, Grand Prairie TX; Matt Martin (Jennifer Dai), Bedford TX; Sarah Cyr, Columbia MO, Megan Mahaney (Jordan), Wentzville MO; John Martin (Nicole), Paris MO; Travis Herrmann (Danielle Hernandez), Independence MO; Corey Moore (Crystal), Albert Lea MN; and Cody Moore (Nicole), Troy MO. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Allison, Helena, Arely and Edward Martin; Mae and Boone Cyr; Joey Randazzo and CJ Baker; Zachary and Alexandra Herrmann; Kaylee and Aubrey Ritchey and Oaklyn Moore; and brothers-in-law the right Reverend Dr. Jimmie Lynn Martin and Gene Martin as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at noon on Monday, June 2 followed immediately by a Celebration of Life at 1:00, at South Haven Baptist Church, 2353 S Campbell, Springfield MO.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Samaritan's Purse (Samaritanspurse.org) or any charity of your choosing.

My Dearest Aunt Jane....I will miss you until we meet again. To Richard, David and Karen....You have my deepest sympathy and love as you grieve and come to terms with your mother´s loss. To all of the grands and great-grands, may your sadness be replaced with complete joy with the memories of the past and knowing you will be with your grandma and grandpa, Uncle Allen and Aunt Susie when it´s your time to leave this temporary home.
May God give all of you peace, comfort and strength as you navigate through life without your Grandma/Great-Grandma.
I love you all to the ends of the earth and will always be praying for you. God Bless.

You will be dearly missed, I'll always remember you for your sass and sarcasm
(I quickly learned where Dave and Karen got it). I'll forever be grateful for the extra time I got to spend with you this year going back to school! We all loved you so much and a piece of our hearts have left with you -Nicole Moore.
