Jane C. Philion

Jane Cora Caskey Philion was born on May 9, 1948, in Camden, New Jersey, to Mary Yvonne McCall Caskey and Elery James Caskey. She grew up surrounded by family and was one of several siblings, including James, (Barbara), Mary Yvonne, John, (Deborah) and Catherine, (Ronald Motley). She passed away peacefully in her home.

Jane was known for her generous spirit and her willingness to help anyone who asked. She found joy in simple things, including her love of squirrels, and had a special gift for bringing people together - most memorably through the yearly neighborhood parties she hosted, bringing joy and strengthening her community.

Jane held leadership roles in her Toastmasters International club of West Hartford, where she inspired others through mentorship and service. Through her volunteer work with the Hartford Stage, the Hartford Carousel and Playhouse on Park, she shared her love of the arts.

Jane is survived by her loving partner of 30 years, Roger Brown; her sons, Paul Joseph, Christopher James, Jon Peter and his wife Linh; her beloved grandsons, Zachary and Khai, who brought her immense pride and joy.

She leaves behind cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and a community who will miss her deeply.

Memorial services will be held in the spring, with details to be shared at a later time.
