Richard P. Marek Sr.

Richard P. Marek, Sr. 73, of Unionville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026. Born in Hartford, son of the late John and Catherine (Roman) Marek, he was raised in Unionville where he spent most of his life. His professional career involved computer technology and IT work for many years with the Hartford Insurance Company, then operating his own business. He enjoyed working on family genealogy, photography, playing the guitar, and woodworking. He also was an animal lover who loved and spoiled his dogs. He was a former member of Uncas Council # 32 Knights of Columbus, Unionville. Richard is survived by a son Richad P. Marek, Jr. and his wife Lindsay of Prospect; a daughter Laura Gorman and her wife Gina of Weatogue; a sister Patricia Burwood of Unionville; four grandsons Mason, Bradley, Levi, and Asher Marek; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Ann Nadeau and Janet Weber and a brother John Marek. His family will receive friends Sunday, March15, 2026 from 3-5 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Burial will be private in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
