AUBURN - Jane Smolak, 93, formerly of Wilbur Avenue, Auburn, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in the Finger Lakes Center for the Living.
A native of Fulton, Jane was born March 30, 1930, the daughter of the late King W. and Helen Springer Crockford. She was a graduate of Skaneateles High School, Class of 1947 and continued her education at the Kent Business School.
Jane was a member of the United Methodist Church in Auburn and retired as a Secretary with Cayuga County, following 37 years of faithful employment.
She enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV with her family and late husband Joseph. Jane was an avid square and round dancer and a member of the Cayuga Cut-Ups for over forty years.
She is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey Smolak and his wife, Amy of Auburn and Jan Smolak and his wife, Gay of Farmington; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a niece and nephew. In addition to her parents and husband, Joseph, Jane is predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Bocian.
There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held for immediate family members.
