Jane O’Connor Szabo, 78, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at her home in Dublin, OH with her family by her side.
She is survived by son Tom Szabo (wife Molly Camp), daughter Mara Roberts (husband William Roberts), grandchildren Milo and Annie Roberts, sister Barbara Wright, brother Dan O’Connor (wife Heidi O’Connor), and brother Tom O’Connor (husband Matt Pugliese), and preceded in death by husband Byron Szabo, parents John and Ruth O’Connor, brother Steve O’Connor, and brother-in-law Jon Wright. She loved her family and friends dearly and in the final year of her life was surrounded by them all.
After graduating from Michigan State University, she received her master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and dedicated her life to teaching children, including 34 years at Dublin Community Preschool. A member of Vineyard Columbus, she was a woman of faith and a true representation of the heart of God. As an artist, cook, gardener, and traveler, she not only saw beauty in the world, she added to it in everything she did.
Jane was loved by so many and will be deeply missed. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held at a future date.
