Jane Gates Tourand, 85 of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully at Cheyenne Medical Lodge on September 8, 2025, after a short battle with Cancer and Dementia.
Jane was Born on July 15, 1940, in Dallas, Texas and was adopted by Doris Irene and James Young Gates of McKinney, Texas. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1958. She was a homemaker and then went on to work in the banking industry for many years. In younger years Jane's hobbies included hunting, softball, bowling, dancing, cards, domains and listening to music and occasional trips to the casino. She enjoyed watching baseball, football and Nascar. Jane loved spending time with her family.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents Doris and James Gates, husband, Art Tourand, son, Brad Stevens and son-in-law, Tim Yancey.
Jane is survived by her children Rick Stevens and wife Lucy of Laguna Vista, TX, Terri Yancey and husband Tim+ of Mesquite, TX, Sheri Sheffield and husband Lonny of Deport TX, Chad Stevens and wife Helen of Virginia Beach VA. Grandchildren Billie Jane Stevens-Kirk, Jeremie Stevens, Jared Yancey, Corey Yancey, Bo Yancey, Chris Yancey, Bailey Ingram, Christian Leon, Brittany Hernandez and Kailey Adanistch; 22 great grandchildren; 9 Great Great Grandchildren. Sister, Judy Bramlett of Woodlands, TX, Nephew, Billy Bramlett and Niece, Christina Swanson.
The family will be having a private celebration of life at a later date.
