Mann-Slonaker Funeral HomeIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janel L. Kirlin, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, who departed this life on October 8, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest at the age of 46. Born on April 10, 1979, in Sellersville, PA, Janel was a shining light in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Janel dedicated her life to supporting her family and their various interests, taking joy in the simple yet profound moments spent with loved ones. She passionately volunteered her time with youth football, wrestling, and baseball programs in the Boyertown Community, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless children and families. Her dedication to her community reflected her caring spirit and boundless generosity.
Janel worked for many years as a highway contractor with the US Postal Service in both the Perkasie and Quakertown offices. When she wasn't working or volunteering, Janel cherished gathering with close friends, often sharing her love of music by attending concerts that filled her heart with joy.
Janel is survived by her devoted husband, Christian Kirlin, with whom she shared 16 years of marriage; her mother, Diane Detwiler; her son, Dimitri Kirlin; her step-daughters: Leila and Kalina Kirlin; her granddaughter: Alexandria Strauss; sisters: Jennifer Montgomery and Jacqueline (Ronnie) Wilson; brother Robert Detwiler Jr. and grandparents: Joseph and Donna Detwiler. She was recently preceded in death by her father: Robert Detwiler Sr. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of Janel's life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington St., East Greenville, PA at 11:00 AM. Friends will be received from 9-11 am. There will be an intimate gathering to follow for family and close friends at the Boyertown Orioles Social Club-Nest 22 (Upstairs Hall) 100 N. Washington St. Boyertown, PA 19512 from 1-4 PM.
