Janelle Bonner Alphonso, 79, a native of Morgan City, Louisiana and resident of Berwick, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Janelle is survived by her children, Valerie Alphonso Bella and husband Blaise, Roland E. Alphonso Jr., Kristene Alphonso LeCompte and husband Tim, Luke Alphonso Sr. and wife Monica, Carlo Alphonso; her grandchildren, Micaela Beach, Sara Bella, Blaise Bella, Ian LeCompte, Evan LeCompte, Aaron LeCompte, Devin Alphonso Parker, Luke Alphonso Jr., Nickolas Alphonso, Madison Alphonso; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Bella, Marissa, Nelson, Hunter, Parker, Aidynn, Emma, Levi, Lacie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Janelle was proceeded in death by her husband, Roland Alphonso, Sr.; her parents, Emory and Sina Bonner; her brothers, Lawrence Bonner, Emory Bonner, Jr., Eugene Bonner, Arnold Bonner. Farrell Bonner and Rodney Bonner; her sisters, Florence Fouquier, Wanda Taylor, June Robisheaux, Geraldine Guidry and Mary Grace Ray.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation for Janelle on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church in Morgan City beginning at 1:00p.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:30pm. Interment will follow in Morgan City Cemetery.
Janelle, who was lovingly known as "Cookie" and "Mimi" by many, was the mother of five children and a second mother to many. Her door was always open if you needed a hug, advice, a meal, or just simply someone to listen. She loved her grandchildren as her own. She will always be remembered for her unwavering faith, selfless care for all she loved, and a presence that made everyone feel at home. She was the center of our family, and she will be forever loved and missed.
