Janet Ruth Allen

Janet Ruth Allen, a member of Cross Assembly Church, went home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on November 25, 2025. Jan was born on October 31, 1948, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to the late Curtis and Ruth Brown. Jan married her childhood sweetheart, Don Allen, on August 26, 1967, at Hobart Methodist Church. They attended Purdue University, where they enjoyed campus life. Jan worked for State Farm Insurance in Lafayette, Indiana, while at Purdue University.

Jan loved people, and it gave her great joy to celebrate special occasions with family and friends. She always made birthdays and holidays a wonderful time for her children & grandchildren. Jan loved high adventure and spending time with her animals. Her first and favorite dog was Cindy, and her favorite horse was Star, a great-looking palomino. During trail rides, Jan was on the lookout for other palominos. Jan supported many animal rescue organizations.

Jan was very involved in the Assembly of God churches she attended during her life. Jan accepted the Lord as her Savior in 1968 at East Gary, Indiana, AOG. She served the church in many areas, including children's ministries. She always had a passion for missions, especially ones involving children. She supported missions both in the US and around the world. Jan will be missed on Earth, but she will always be in our hearts.

Jan is survived by her husband Royce Don Allen, who will always cherish her memory; sisters: Cecilia Wozniak (Robert), Kathy L. Corll (Dave); brothers: Malcolm Brown (Diana), Roy Glynn Allen (Freida), Larry (deceased); children: Brian Allen (Marizol), Craig Allen, Darren Allen (Kim); many grandchildren: Dakota Allen, Jakob Allen, Sierra Allen, Sydney Allen, Jayden Allen, Faith Tyree, Gracelyn Tyree, Kaitlyn Woollen, Victoria Woollen, and 9 special nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Jan's life will be held at 11 am on December 4, 2025, at Cross Assembly 2660 Yonkers Rd., Raleigh, NC 27604. The family will receive relatives and friends one hour prior to the service at 10 am.
