Janet Delayne Baskerville, 71, of Crookston, MN, passed away on August 13, 2025 at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston.
Janet was born on October 9, 1953 in Crookston, MN, to Robert and DeLayne Pfeifer Baskerville. She attended Mount St Benedict where she graduated in 1972. After high school, she earned an Associate's Degree in Music from Central Lakes College- Staples in 1975 and then her Bachelor's in Music from St. Scholastica's- Duluth in 1977. Janet lived and worked in many places until returning to Crookston. She worked at New Flyer where she worked until retirement in 2016.
Janet loved playing the piano. She would play whenever possible. Throughout her years in high school, she would also play the organ in church. Janet was a talented seamstress, sewing everything from Halloween costumes to wedding dresses! She would decorate her home by sewing curtains, stenciling walls, and doing cross-stitch and needlepoint. In her younger years, she loved gardening and had an adventurous spirit. She once hitch-hiked to Washington state with a friend where she worked for the summer in the orchard.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and DeLayne Baskerville; grand parents, Harry and Ellen Pfeifer, George and Anne Baskerville; brothers, Robert D Baskerville, William J Baskerville; brother-in-law, Sheldon G Malmedal.
Janet is survived by her sisters, Marilyn Malmedal of Linton, ND, Phyllis Denny of Crookston, MN; brothers, Mark Baskerville of Lucan, MN, Rick (Anita) Baskerville of Eldred, MN along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Janet's life will take place on October 10, 2025, at 2:00 pm, visitation with the family one hour prior, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will be at Calvery Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet's name to the Benedictine Foundation Crookston- Villa St. Vincent or to The Scruffy Tails Animal Shelter.
