Janet E. Bell, age 81, of Akron, passed away at her home on September 22, 2025. She was born in Akron on April 29, 1944 to Clarence and Marian (Renner) Morris. She graduated in 1962 from Coventry High School.
Janet worked as a bookkeeper at Carter Lumber for many years before her retirement.
Janet, as a lifelong resident of Portage Lakes, enjoyed everything the area had to offer. She enjoyed wine tasting and touring the vineyards in the area with her husband and close friends. Janet always enjoyed the holidays and making candies, cookies and treats. She will be missed by all who knew her and their shared experiences. Janet loved her neighbors who watched out for her when she lived alone and regularly praised these great people in her life.
In addition to her mother, Marian Nemeth, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burton Bell; and brother, Richard Morris.
She is survived by sons, Doug (Kelley) Farris and John (Grazyna) Farris; step daughter, Cindy (Dale) Muckerman; step son, Jeff (Jo Ann) Bell; immediate family in the area and across the country. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Nathan Bell, Mallorie Masciotro, Alex Farris, Sophie Farris, Riki (Marcus) McGuinn, Meadow Muckerman and Julie (Tyler) Meyer; great-grandchildren, Emmie Rodriguez and Asa McGuinn. She is also survived by her brother, CB Morris and sister-in-law, Jane Morris.
Per Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services are planned at this time. Her soul now resides in Heaven.
A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 1-4pm at her home on Delora Drive in Coventry Township.
