Janet K. Bell

Janet Karlene Bell (née Lauria), 91, of Midland, MI, passed on Saturday, December 20, 2025, while in the gracious and loving care of Tridgeview Commons. Janet was born on July 20, 1934, to Dorothy Karlene Lauria (née Schroeder) and George William Lauria in Saginaw, MI. Janet was the eldest sister to, and survived by, Carole Moore, married to Bud Moore, and Nancy Dempsey.
Janet married Paul Bell on April 23rd, 1955, in Saginaw, MI. Together they brought Wendee Ann Bell and Toni Lynn Bell into the world.
Janet graduated from high school in Saginaw and went to work for Michigan Bell Telephone. She also worked for WT Grants, Ace Hardware, and retired as a beloved cafeteria worker for Midland Public Schools. Janet found joy in the simple things in life and enjoyed gardening, baking, cross-stitching, and sewing. She also had a deep love for dogs and never lived without one as her companion.
Janet is survived by her daughters and their families; Wendee and Kennth (Ken) Lewis, their child Caitlin (Cal) Ann Lewis, engaged to Archey Neumann; Toni and Ted Chicosky, their children Erin Elizabeth, married to Kevin Thomas Wolak, and Gregory Paul Chicosky; a great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.
Janet is predeceased by her husband; parents; and oldest daughter, Kelly Jo Bell.
Funeral services for Janet will take place at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 West Wheeler Street. Entombment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Humane Society of Midland County or the Alzheimer's Association Greater Michigan Chapter.
