Janet Louise Blome

Janet Louise Blome, 66, of Bridgeport, NE passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. Cremation has taken place per her request. Her memorial service will be held 2pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bridgeport with Reverend Richard Neugebauer officiating. Interment will follow at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of which she was a lifelong member. Janet was born April 16, 1958, in Bridgeport, NE to Herman E Jr. and Elsie (Henkel) Blome. She lived on the family farm south of Bridgeport. Janet devoted her life in working together with her parents on the farm and caring for them until their passing.
Janet was educated in Bridgeport and was a proud member of the graduating class of 1976. She worked as a waitress and bartender. She enjoyed being part of the women's bowling league, line dancing, painting ceramics and had parts in the Camp Clark plays.
Her animals were a special part of her life. Janet's love, kindness and compassion for others was unmeasurable and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her brother Edward (Connie) Blome of Gering; uncles Phillip & Linda Henkel and Harry & Phillis Henkel; a host of cousins and many good friends.
She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
