Janet Ruth Bragg

Janet Ruth (Sisler) Bragg, 85, of the Gladesville Community, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at home.

She was born in Plainview, on the farm along Stony Run Road near Gladesville, on July 25, 1940, a daughter of the late Raymond R. and the late Garnet R. (Born) Sisler.

Janet graduated from Newburg High School and then became a homemaker, raising three sons. She was a proud and protective mother, making sure nobody spoke bad of her boys. Janet was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed canning garden vegetables, reading old farmers' almanacs, doing search words puzzles and coloring books, watching the weatherman, waiting on the mail lady, phone calls with her friends and spending time on her iPad. She lived her entire life in Gladesville, a community she loved. Janet was a lifelong member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in the heart Gladesville, she enjoyed attending the Gladesville Strawberry Festival and visiting with neighbors.

Janet is survived by her three sons, Donald Bragg and wife Tina of Morgantown, David Bragg and wife Sandra of Morgantown and Robert Bragg and wife Brittaney of Arthurdale; nine grandchildren, Joseph Bragg and wife Casey, Dawn O'Dell and husband Will, Heather Bragg, Stephanie Shaw and husband Devin, Craig Bragg, Emma Shearer, Billy Hunt, Bobby Hunt and wife Morgan and Jeremy Hunt; ten great grandchildren, Ashton, Gianna, Harper, Deryk, Greyson, Kynzee, Bransten, Hannah, Cyrus and Callum; four sisters, Becky Walters, Doris Born and husband Mick, Delores Turner, Susie Smith and husband George; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hugh Bragg on June 2, 2022; a great grandson, Archer; a sister, Agnes M. Hileman and three brothers, Rex R. Sisler, Robert R. Sisler and Bernard "Jimmy" J. Sisler.

Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from 2- 4 and 6 – 8 pm and Monday, December 22, 2025, from 10 until the 11 am time of service with Scott Cress officiating. Interment will follow in Gladesville Cemetery.
