Janet Burgess Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Janet was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on October 11, 1935 to James Ray and Edith Helen McFatridge. She is proceeded in death by her parents, her brother George McFatridge, her husband Richard "Dick" Burgess and her son Rodney Burgess.
Surviving family includes four children (RaDeena, Keith, Karalee and Todd and his wife Kathy), daughter-in-law Kristal, four grandsons (Dean and his wife Jessica, Chad and his wife Hannah, Scott, Luke and his wife Rachel), and 5 great grandchildren (Hope, Ava, Asher, Jasper and Seth).
She moved with her husband and family to Eagle River, Alaska in August of 1964 and spent her pre-retirement years teaching elementary school and being the school librarian.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church Eagle River where she served as Organist, Pianist, Church Librarian and Sunday school teacher.
Her family and friends mourn her passing but rejoice in knowing that she is with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and waiting for the grand reunion when all God's children come home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anchorage Rescue Mission.
