Janet L. Carrico
July 18, 1948 – December 20, 2024
Loving grandma, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt.
Janet is survived by children Thomas Kunz, Gregory (Brenda) Carrico and Jennifer (Kevin) Mietz; grandchildren Ethan and Dylan Kunz; Caroline, Hudson and Bennett Carrico; Morgan (Xavier) Seng, Brennan Klaumann and Easton Mietz.
Preceded in death by parents Garld and Genelle (Kuhlman) Carrico; brother Jerry Carrico; and husband Lawrence Johnson.
Janet was born in Hasting, NE and lived in several places throughout Washington and Nebraska. She attended Omaha North High School and graduated from Rawlins High School in Rawlins, Wyoming in 1966. She graduated from Capitol Beauty School with a diploma in Complete Cosmetology Training in 1967.
Janet was very close to her beloved brother Jerry and they had many adventures growing up together. They remained close in adulthood and continued to support each other through good times and some challenging times.
Janet loved her children and grandchildren, who were her whole world. She was proud of their accomplishments and loved to tell stories about them to others. Her grandkids remember her fondness for drinking peach tea, Diet Coke, eating tortilla chips and McDonalds hamburgers.
Janet’s affinity for a neat and tidy house was well known. She liked decorating with country décor and chickens and loved Obsession perfume, Kenny Rogers, The Andy Grifith show, Gunsmoke and the movie Grease.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, NE.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at John A. Gentleman Mortuaries, Bellevue Chapel, 3402 Samson Way, Bellevue, NE 68123.
