Janet F. Correy, 88, of Jamaica, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Kings Garden of Perry Lutheran Homes.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Perry Chapel. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Jamaica. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Jamaica Public Library. Janet was born on April 29, 1937, in Ohio, to George and Edna (Rollins) Orndorf. She graduated from St. Patrick Catholic School in Perry.
On November 9, 1957, Janet was united in marriage to Larry Correy at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry. Their union was blessed with six children: Michael Dean, James Francis, Daniel Joseph, Beth Ann, John David, and Kristen Kay. Janet had a career at Perry State Bank, now known as Raccoon Valley State Bank, where she worked 37 years.
She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jamaica prior to its closing. Janet enjoyed crafting, especially making wreaths and Easter eggs, and was an avid reader. She treasured her time at the Jamaica Public Library, where she proudly served on the board.
Determined and hardworking, Janet devoted herself to her family with deep love and care. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved and sharing in the moments and milestones of their lives.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Michael Correy (Melodee) of Story City; Daniel Correy (Janine) of Dyersville; Beth Lide (Martin) of Houston, Texas; John Correy (Raeome) of Johnston; and Kristen Scott (Terry) of Lee Summit, Missouri; sixteen cherished grandchildren: Sean, Jessica, Madison, and Justin Correy; Nick and Olivia Thorson; Brette and Brady Correy; Hailey Hageman, Tanner and Tye Correy; Ethan and Hattie Ludwig; and TerrAnnie Scott; and five great-grandchildren: Egan and Tatum Leber; Mason and Drew Jensen; and Ryker Hageman. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Correy; her son, James Francis Correy; her grandson, Sean Correy; and her brother, Wayne Orndorf.
